Jo's funeral took place on 7th December 2016 at Warriston Crematorium, Edinburgh. It was a beautiful service led by Humanist Celebrant, Graham Duff.

A big part of the service featured some favourite songs of Jo's which were chosen by family and friends. These gave some idea of the diversity of Jo's musical taste.

"Young Blood" by Sophie Ellis-Bextor was chosen by Louise.

"Transatlanticism" by Death Cab for Cutie was chosen by Neale.

"Last Night of the World" from Miss Saigon by Lea Salonga and Simon Bowman was chosen by Hazel and Alex.

"Untouchable" by Girls Aloud was chosen by Amy.

"The Adventure" by Angels and Airwaves was chosen by Aimee.

The poem "Listen" was beautifully read by Amy and JD.

A retiral collection was taken and raised the amazing total of £1,200. This fantastic sum was split between Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Freeman Heart Lung Transplant Association and The Butterfly Trust. A big thank you goes to everyone for contributing.

This year, 2024, Death Cab for Cutie are touring to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album Transatlanticism. It just so happens that they're playing in Glasgow on the anniversary of Jo's transplant. As Neale and Jo went to see them on their original tour, Neale made sure he got tickets to see this special gig on this special date. 🥰
